In a relatively short space of time, the story of Cloud Gaming has taken a very interesting turn. For those unfamiliar with the concept: as video compression technology and internet infrastructure improve there is this growing idea of changing the familiar model of running a game on a local powerful enough machine to running the game on a powerful server somewhere else https://coloradosfrontier.com/the-future-of-vr-and-games/? Compression a video feed of the game back to a smaller or weaker device through the web and relaying back the controller or keyboard inputs. It requires a fast internet connection but only a very modest local PC thus somewhat making the concepts of specs obsolete. This is not on itself a new idea, onlive tried this back in 2010 (it did not go well) and on its wake, a number of smaller niche services have tried different versions of this formula with different degrees of success and I did a video exploring a lot of them. In the meantime, there has been an interesting miniature explosion of mainstream interest in the concept. Google, a company known for launching all sorts of crazy experimental ideas as products and then seeing which ones stick around, did a brief experiment running on the Chrome browser. And there are rumors of them announcing their own streaming service/console on GDC. I am attending GDC and publishing this video right before I leave so I plan to keep an eye on this. If that happens and you want to know my opinion, Twitter, Instagram or the community tab is the place to keep an eye on. Nintendo currently allows playing some games that are too heavy for the switch using cloud computers in Japan. Sony has a service to play a very specific selection of PS4 games on a very specific group of countries which funnily enough is based on OnLive technology which they purchased. But the more interesting recent development comes from the hand of a company that has a very large influence both in computing and gaming as a whole: Microsoft. For the last generation, it is more noticeable how Microsoft is moving away from the classic strategy of creating the best console possible and getting people in with exclusives and is more and more using the Xbox brand more as a service rather than a device. Xbox exclusives keep showing up on PC as the dreaded Universal Windows Apps, with some major exceptions and there seem to be growing experiments of basically of running basically the same game in both places. However, the big surprise is on Xcloud. As its console presence loses priority Microsoft has been pouring resources into what essentially is their own gaming platform where the interface for playing could be a phone, a tablet, or a small TV box and all games are run on remote servers. The language Microsoft is using for this is pretty ambitious. It is not a surprise that when news started breaking of Microsoft working to bring Xbox games to switch the rumours point out to xCloud being a part of it. So it is not crazy to think that at least one of the big names in gaming is seriously considering a future where console gamers in countries with decent internet infrastructure buy a tiny box to connect to their TVs that streams games over an Xbox subscription. The implications of this hypothetical future are interesting for all gamers and definitely for those limited by the low power of their local PCs so naturally, I got curious. Lucky for me a French cloud gaming company called Shadow released the new version of their gaming box called the Ghost, a light client that connects to their Cloud Gaming PC. There is no current information on the xCloud service, but it is fair to assume that it will be closer to Geforce Now in the sense that you would have a selection of compatible games to play. Shadow takes the approach of services like Parsec in the sense that you are basically renting a PC, the whole thing. Their primarily use case is installing Steam, Origin or whatever and gaming there, after all the PC that you rent seems very, very capable. The ghost is a very interesting device for several reasons. About 2 years ago Shadow´s initial pitch centred entirely around their original Shadow Box, a device you would rent from them that aimed to replace a gaming PC entirely but they then pivoted to offering Shadow as a service that you could use in your current PC or even your phone.

Alright guys, so in today's video we are going to be sharing some travel tips for Hong Kong and also letting you know how expensive is Hong Kong? Yeah, how expensive is Hong Kong? I think we all know the answer to that. Yeah, it is quite expensive but there is also some really cool aspects about Hong Kong (香港) almost unlike any other city we've visited.
There is a plethora of free things to do and budget eats. Budget eats and also transportation is really cheap. But we're going to break everything down and let you know the costs for Hong Kong live dealer casino in Canada. Okay so first up let's get started with transportation from the airport in to Kowloon (九龍) or Hong Kong Island (香港島). Right and like our last travel tips video we've got our notes on our computer so you'll see us looking down from time to time. We just don't want to miss anything. Alright, so the first point we have is arriving by Airport Express. And that is what we did getting in to Hong Kong. It is like this really fast train that takes you right in to the city. You can get off at Kowloon (九龍) or you can go all the way to Hong Kong Island at Central station. And it super efficient, really fast, very comfortable. Um, in terms of the price so you're looking at a $100 Hong Kong dollars all the way to Central or you're looking at $90 Hong Kong Dollars to Kowloon station. So that is about $11 to $12 USD dollars. Something else important to know is that they have free porters to help you bring on your luggage. Fancy. We didn't take advantage of that service. No one helped us with our bags. No but if you do have trouble getting your bags on to the train there is someone that is apparently available to help you do that. Good to know. That is really good to know. Um, an even cheaper option is the buses. And there is a bus called the a bus system called the Cityflyer and this is how we got back to the airport. From the city to the airport when we were leaving. Yeah and prices can range anywhere from 10 Hong Kong Dollars to 48. Ah, it is going to be closer to the forty eight range if you're leaving anywhere from the centre of Hong Kong (香港) which is what we did. And you're looking at like five to six US bucks for that. This is also quite a comfortable way to get to the airport. I remember I think it was air conditioned inside. I fell asleep so I don't remember much. Yeah, I mean they have a little section for you to put your luggage and yeah uh as long as there is not a lot of traffic then it is a fairly efficient way to get from the airport to the city or vice versa from the city back to the airport. So we can also recommend doing that. Especially if you want to save a little bit of money. And the last option that we have here is taking a taxi. Oh man. And that is going to cost you a lot. That is anywhere from 250 to 350 Hong Kong dollars. So you're looking at around forty maybe fifty US bucks to get you in to the city. And I guess the only time we'd recommend taking that is if you were in maybe like a super rush. Something like that. But otherwise why wouldn't you take the first two options. Save some money guys. So for accommodations you have a few different options but we're going to tell you right now it is going to be pricey. This is probably the most expensive city in all of Asia for accommodation. And you're not going to get a whole lot of space. If you watched our Hong Kong hotel room tour there is a shot where Sam is like touching the two walls. It was tiny. And like the beds were tiny as well. You kind of feel like a giant when you're in a typical Hong Kong hotel room. You do. But anyways your best bet if you're traveling on a budget would be a hostel. So I recommend wearing no-show socks that way you can still achieve the sock-less look and show some ankle but your feet will be covered and protected.
So tip number four, easy on and off shoes. Tip number five, get some decent luggage. I'm not talking about designer stuff. It doesn't have to be expensive but don't carry a backpack or your gym bag around the airport. So what I usually do is I have a large carry-on which is like a roller and then I have like a messenger bag that I can keep my laptop in and everything else that I want to actually have access to on the plane, in my seat. Some snacks, headphones, an extra charger, Kindle and stuff like that. You know in my opinion it makes sense to spend a little money on luggage and invest in something high-quality. It's going to last a lot longer, it's going to be easier to use, the handle won't get jammed up, the zipper won't break, it won't get damaged when it's getting tossed around by security and the luggage handlers because you better believe they're not handling any of those bags gently. So tip number five, invest in some decent luggage. And a quick bonus tip, give yourself plenty of time when you're flying. You know we've all been there. Where you're running to your gate, you know, you're sweating through your clothes, you're stressed out. It's not a good look. It doesn't feel good. So give yourself plenty of time at the airport and you know it's not that bad if you show up an hour early. You have an hour to kill, get some work done on your laptop. You know call someone you haven't talked to in a while or just get a coffee, get a beer and just people watch. But it's much better to have a little bit of extra time at the airport than to have not enough time. So I hope these tips help you travel in comfort and style. Big thanks again to Original Grain for sponsoring this video. Go check out their watches, there's a link down in the description and if you have any questions or comments about any of this please leave a comment down below. And until next time, stay stylish! Now, if you're thinking, "Oh well if I wear a watch or belts or any other accessory it's just one more thing to deal with during the security line!" I hear you, but let's be honest it's not that hard just take off your watch, put it in a little bin and then put it back on.
So tip number one, accessorize. Tip number two, no t-shirts. Now listen, I'm not saying a high quality, fitted v-neck can't be a good look while you're traveling. I just prefer to step it up one notch in terms of style and formality with a polo shirt or a fitted casual button-up like this one polo shirts and button-up shirts are just as comfortable as tee shirts but they just look a little more polished and thoughtful. So skip the graphic tees, skip the old baggy t-shirts, throw on a polo shirt or a casual button-up. Tip number three, no shorts. Okay, shorts are inherently very, very casual and in my opinion they're too casual for travel especially for airline travel. Now listen, if you're island hopping around the Caribbean flying on those tiny 12-seater planes fine wear shorts and a Hawaiian shirt. But if you're traveling, you know, like most of us do just domestically or internationally, whatever, wear pants. Pants are gonna look better. I think they're a lot more comfortable if you're sitting on one of those airline seats for hours. They also offer full coverage on your legs because sometimes it can get oddly cold on an airplane. So tip number three, skip the shorts, wear pants. Tip number four, easy on and off shoes. So I'm talking about loafers, boat shoes, chelsea boots or sneakers that are easy to slip on and off without untying and then tying again. Now if you want to wear these shoes, they're easy to get on and off because obviously it makes the security line a lot less stressful and more streamlined for you especially if it's crowded. A little pro tip, what I like to do especially if it's the summertime and it's really hot. I like to do the no sock look but I don't actually want to wear no socks because I don't want to stand barefoot in that security line waiting to go to the body scanner. Today, with you we have Eric, Brandon, and Chelsea, all from College Kids React... And Alex. - Yeah, well. - (laughing) But even with Alex, we're going to have an awesome challenge because this is sponsored by What's That Smell, an awesome, really interesting smelling game.
So basically how it works is there's a ton of smells inside. Some are good. Some are bad. If you don't guess it correctly, you're gonna have to smell the whiff of shame, which is disgusting. - I love that description because this game really reminds me of just having Challenge Chalice in a little box to take everywhere, which I just love. You can also download the companion app, where you can capture all of your friends and frenemies reacting to the good or bad smells using the reek cam check this website. There's literally, I think, over 50 scents in there that range from really, really good to really, really bad. I'm good looking at the garbage right now. Really, really bad. Check out the links in the description for more information and to get yourself your own What's That Smell. As you can see, there's a lot of stuff right in front of you, so I'm splitting you guys into two teams, right in the middle. Team on the left right there. Team on the right over here. So we are actually the What's That Smell Challenge. It's actually a little spin-off we thought of from the actual party game. The party game has other rules, equally as awesome, but, of course, with Challenge Chalice, we do it in our own way. So basically you'll be using the whiff strip and graze it across the mystery whiff card and (sniffing) breathe in deeply and there will be a smell and you have to guess the smell. You are allowed to use these as guides of what they could be, but the twist to it is that if you get it incorrect, then your teammate has to either eat or smell or put on the correct smell. - This is a bad day to be-- - (Chelsea) No! - I was already feeling a little queasy before this, so-- - Whoever loses, your punishment is the whiff of shame, but not just the whiff of shame. You're gonna have to sniff the whiff of shame for a minute straight. - What?! - Ooh! What is that? Oh! Like nasty middle school-- my guess is gym socks. - And orange juice. - It's old cheese. Close, basically. - (Alex) So if you're ready, if it's not on the table, you gotta take a whiff of it for 30 seconds. - 30?! [Inaudible]. Oh, my god. That doesn't smell good. - (Chelsea) Oh. - Ugh! It smells like minty but like pork. It's like a mint pork. - A mint pork? - Maybe body odor or something like that? - Oh, great. - How do you eat that? - That's vague. - I don't know! Or bad cologne. - (Alex) Bad cologne? - Sure. - (Alex) All right, you can take it off. - What is? What is? - Barbecue sauce?! What kind of barbecue sauce are you eating?! - What kind of cologne do you use? - (laughter) - Shot of BBQ. - Oh, dang! - Nom, nom, nom. - Tell me, whatchu got? Whatchu smelling? What are you thinking? - (sighing) I don't know what I'm thinking. Oh, that smells like-- it smells fruity. - Citrusy? - Yeah, citrusy. I'm thinking it's definitely an orange or a lemon. - Maybe a tooth? - Now they're both kinda distinct. - Yeah. - You gotta give it some more whiffing. - (Alex) All right, time for you to guess. - Uh, I'm gonna go with an orange. - YES! - Woo! - Smell that bad boy. - Oh, that's not good. - (laughing) - Dude, it's always fish. - (laughing) - Oh, that's like rainbow trout from Michigan. - (Alex) All right, so what's your guess? - Fish? Garbage?! - There's a fish in it! There's a fish in it!
